Boy's Baptism weekend

Oh my, what a weekend this was...

Dane & Sam arrived on Friday. Brayden is always excited to see them- here he is Saturday morning in their bed (watching Monsters Inc.)

And later right before nap time:

Nana & Pop-pop Gearhart and Grandma Williams came Saturday afternoon. Here is Brayden playing with pop-pop in the basement (literally a few hours before pure HELL set in... *more on that later)

SHEER SPEED =)

Here are Nana & Bryce:

Saturday afternoon was a mess of a storm... Our power went out for good around 4PM. Once the power went out, the sump pumps quit working, and THUS- we flooded! It literally went from *wet* to 14" in 2-3 hours! All I have to say is, thank goodness for family! While it may have seemed a little stressful to have a houseful of people, it was the greatest blessing! Gigi (grandma Williams) took total posession over Bryce (Thank you!!) and Nana & Sam took over keeping Brayden occupied (Thank YOU!!) I was on the phone to the landlord, the plumber, the fire company, Lowes, Home Depot, Sears, etc. and all the guys were busy moving all the boxes in the basement to keep our "loses" to a minimum...

Long story short, we all ended up staying in a hotel Saturday. We made it to the baptism on Sunday morning, although I asked Pastor Bryant if maybe he could sprinkle some *sunshine* instead of water- as we'd had ENOUGH water in our lives!! =)

Here are a few pics from the baptism and the gathering afterwards:
Bryce is wearing *part of* the outfit my dad and brother wore to be baptized in! Unfortunately we have a tubby boy on our hands and the shirt couldn't be buttoned, so the jacket had to do! =)

More to come soon... gotta get the baby nursed and Brayden up from his nap! =)

Not too much news to share!

Hi All! I haven't updated pics or videos lately because we really don't have a lot to share! Its been "business as usual" at the Gearhart household.

Here are a couple pictures of Bryce in his swing... He LOVES the little giraffe and could talk/coo/giggle at it for 30-40 minutes at a time! Some are blurry because I turned off the flash and had to sacrifce shutter speed, but they still captured his utter baby joy!

Here is a choppy video clip from my camera catching a little of the cooing and SMILES that Bryce is up to these days:

And lastly, here is Brayden playing dress up with mommy's shoes (sometimes it's these lovely ecru flats, but he is also partial to my crocs!)

This coming weekend is Natalie's baby shower, so I'm sure I'll have a ton of cute preggy pics for you next week! ;) And the weekend after that (March 13-14th) the boys are being baptised, and the WHOLE family is coming to D-town for that as well!

Weekend in western PA

We made our first travel back to western PA with the new guy this past weekend. It was for Grandma Williams' Surprise 75th birthday party!! The car ride actually went VERY well! I was prepared with all sorts of toys, stickers, videos, snacks, etc. but Brayden kept himself entertained!

Here are a few pics from our trip (although I don't have ANY from "Gigi's" party because we were busy chasing Brayden around!)

Blizzard of 2010

So after receiving 18-20" of snow on Saturday, we got hammered with another 2 feet on Wednesday!! I was finally impressed with the winter weather and not disapointed in our weather man!

Here are a few pictures showing the progress of the storm. Derek and I went out late on Tuesday night to shovel the first 2-3" and get a head start on the storm. Here is Derek early on Wednesday morning shoveling the next 6-8":

our house at the start of the storm

While he was busy outside, I was busy INSIDE:

This is mid-storm, our beautiful Maple tree in the front yard:

The view from the street

During a slowing of the storm before the winds started... As you can see, the mound of snow we shoveled along BOTH SIDES of the driveway was almost as tall as ME!!

It took Derek 2 hours to shovel our driveway, and just as he finished, the plow drove by blocking us in! So another 30mins later, Derek finally called it quits for the night.

We have tons of "snowed in" video and more pics to download, so check back again soon! =)

GREAT video of Brayden

Brayden is REALLY into mimicking EVERYTHING Derek and I do lately... First is a GREAT video, then a picture of something else he's into these days.

I already posted this picture of this on facebook,

but Derek and I just caught Brayden "playing" with my pump... we just HAD to share!!

And here is our "big boy" doing big boy things just like Daddy does it!

...apparently, he thinks his belly button does a magnitude of interesting things!!

February Storm 09

From news reports we gather we got hit with around 18" of snow! The last time we had a snow storm, Bryce was born!! Derek and I were so excited to get out and play with Brayden this time. True to his nature, he was a big helper shoveling the drive way!

Here are Brayden and daddy before heading outside:

(That is sidewalk chalk on the front of his jacket- his new found LOVE!)

Helping, helping, helping!

Brayden "helping" daddy, but more than likely, getting in the way!

Face plant into the snow =)

At least he has a smile on his face!!

When I took him out on an adventure around the back yard, he was trying to find the deepest snow drifts to get lost in, hehe!

I'm getting tired Mommy!

"plowing" his slide!

More pics to come- the neighbors are coming over later!! =)
