Our First Beach Trip!

We decided last minute to take the boys to the beach and we made out well! The weather was warm, but slightly overcast with a cool breeze, and the water was FANTASTIC! =) Couldn't have asked for better summer beach weather!!

It only takes an hour & 10 to get to a nice family beach in NJ, so we went just for the morning. After a quick trip to Target for a beach umbrella & sunscreen, we were off!

We went to Ocean Grove, NJ first... A nice little beach & town, but on Sundays, the beach doesn't open until 12:30. I wish we would have known that ahead of time!! We already had the boys out and car unpacked when a local stopped & let us know. Back into the car and down the road we headed. We ended up at the next beach south and here are some pictures:


Brayden wasn't too keen on the water, so he stayed busy with his digger & sand pails.




Bryce was unsure of the "gritty" stuff, especially how it TASTED! haha, but he was a good sport...




Brayden found some seashells and is checking them out...

Fun Day!

We were attempting a "no nap day" because the roofers were finishing up today and making quite a bit of noise. Brayden has pulled the "I'm scared" technique 3 times in the last 4 nights and ending up in our bed. I'm fed up, so I did everything I could to keep Brayden awake today.... here are some pics of B "painting" and hanging out in Bryce's car seat (?)

Brayden zonked out literally in the time it took me to go upstairs and get Bryce out of the crib & change his diaper. When I got downstairs, he was passed out on the couch! Really cute, so I let him sleep for 50mins before I woke him up for dinner. We'll see how tonight goes!

Happy Father's Day!

We had a pretty unevenful Father's day, but isn't that what its all about sometimes?
Friday evening my parents came to visit for a Father's Day dinner. I made Gazpacho (my dads summer FAVORITE) and we enjoyed some shrimp on the grill, foccia rolls from Tabora Farms and a fresh cherry pie while sitting by the fire & watching the bats go in and out of our roof... Could it get any better?



I catered a baby shower on Saturday, but didn't have to cook dinner- we went to a cook out at our old neighbors (Brian & Angela) house.
Derek is napping on the couch as we "speak" but we'll be getting in the sprinkler/baby pool this afternoon when everyone wakes up!=) More Father's day pics to follow because we got a new camera today!

AVERY JORDAN GRAGER

I just realized that I never posted pics of my darling new neice Avery. She was born on May 7th (just one day late- although, she tried to come on her due date!!) Anyway, she was 8lbs, 3oz and delivered by "surprise" c-section when the docs noticed that she was breech!

Out & About

It was so nice this week, so we have been out enjoying the weather! Derek found a couple new (to us) parks near our house and Brayden LOVES it! He is a big monkey...







Brayden loves counting the "Ducks" (can you see the little baby geese in the middle of the flock? they were still fuzzy and so cute!)
